I switch between programming languages quite a bit; I often wondered what happens when having to deal with the different syntaxes, does the syntax allow you to be more expressive or faster at coding in one language or another. I dont really know about that; but what I do know what keys are pressed…

After the success of my little snippet I thought perhaps the world was ready for a new gospel, so I decided to generate a brand new Bible. First I stripped everything prior to Genesis and did my best to remove verse(?) numbers

Once that completed (it took a while) I ran it through a quick script to create a new guide for the spiritual world.
Take it, go forth, spread the gospel. Damn the unbelievers!
While reading through the Jelly.io examples and trying to decide if it offered anything not already covered by the Test client or Selinium, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the example code looked untidy.
Took me a while to figure out why. The braces. After so long avoiding Python, and fighting against it, purely as I couldn’t see myself using a language without braces, now I find reading languages with braces difficult. Python has ruined me for other languages.
With the latest news about delicious I decided it was time to get my bookmarks (all 5100+ of them) out of the cloud. I never use the social in social bookmarking anyways so might as well have a local searchable database of them, plus I want to play with CouchDB!
But before that I have to tidy my tags, do I really need separate entries for “blog”, “blogs”, “blogging”, “blogger”, etc. But I’m too lazy to go through my thousands of tags so instead I used NLTK to stem my tags :)
Stemming is a technique for removing affixes from a word, ending up with the stem. For example, the stem of “cooking” is “cook”, and a good stemming algorithm knows that the “ing” suffix can be removed. — Python Text Processing with NLTK Cookbook.

Mix in Git support, ability to generate/view Sphinx docs in editor as well as run Unit/Doc tests and a Django shell and I’ll have a Geekgasm
With a little Python I now have my @scrumydotcom stats on my Desktop.
Want to ensure dependents have been easy_installed? Add them to your doctests.
If the packages haven’t been installed, or are not available within the Python path it will throw a big ugly error.
And of course your tests will fail. Which is exactly what we want :)
This 1 line might be enough to get me to change from @panic’s Coda to vim full-time.

Anyways forgot what that idiot is saying and go check out GoogleCL. It looks awesome! You can read more about it in their introductory blog post on the GoogleOS blog. But be careful, it might be a bit geeky!
I’ve taken to writing quite a few little git hook scripts. So it only makes sense to ensure they are under version control as well. I’ve got a couple of others I’ve written. Once I’ve tidied them up I’ll add them to the repo as well.
Parse source files, find TODO: comments and add them to Things. Requires my pyThings script.
